Evaluation

To create my website I have used both a specialist software and a free online software. I used Dreamweaver the specialist software to create an online photo gallery and a Wix a free online software to create a clothes website. Wix is a website building platform online. I feel that Wix is a really good website when it comes to creating a website because it offers alot such as layouts/templates, links to social media, sub menus, fonts and more.  It allows you to see a preview of the website before you post it online and more. A disadvantage to the site is that its slow, it has a image limit to the size of the image you put in, your not allowed to stretch your image and more.  Dreamweaver is a a proprietary web development application. Dreamweaver offers a lot as well. One disadvantage with dreamweaver is that its complicated to understand where everything is, to use you must understand a bit about it, you can't place your images anywhere and more.

The issues I faced whilst I was trying to create my website was things like the website program not loading, not be able to make website look how I wanted I to, my photo gallery not showing up on the browser and more.

I found it kind of easy to find primary resources because I feel that by having a big family I could just ask them any time I wanted and what I wanted them to wear. All I did was I asked them to stand on a plain wall and pose while I took the image. One thing I did find hard though was taking photos of my little sister because she wouldnt stop moving around. Another thing I did was I created diffrent T-shirts by finding a T-shirt outline, slogans and an image to go with it then I placed it all togther.  Another thing I found challenging was when it came to using Dreamweaver to create my  photo gallery I found it hard to deal with file sizes & image sizes.

I did use a bit of coding when I was making my photo gallery on Dreamweaver all I did  was I copied the same code 2 times. I could understand a bit of it like when I wrote inside the div tag I could kind of understand it.

Overall I did produce interactive web pages which weren't that creative but where really functional.

If I was to do this again I would have my time better planned out. Also I would have prepared the stuff for my website before making it such as the images, the designs and more therefor I wouldn't have to keeping or deleting pages because I have nothing that can go there. Another thing that I would have done is more research, more experimenting  with dreamweaver, being more orgainsed and more.

Another thing I found hard about this project was following some of the tutorials because I would usually miss apart by acdient which would mean I would have to start again and more.

If I had more time I would revisit this because although it was difcult using Dreamweaver I think it was really intersting to see how websites designers work. Also I think that it could really benfit people like me knowing how to make a website incase I want to get my work out there. Yes I would like to revisit web-design next year.

Liberal & Sensitivity To Groups Of Society

Liberal & Sensitivity To Groups Of Society is all about being careful on what you post on the internet. The main reason for this is because you don't know what other people class as being offesive or explict. So to prevent this you should state a warning that some people may find it offensive or explict.

Permissions

Permissions is just about making sure that before you use someones work that you have permission to use it. For example if you make a video with someones song in you must ask for there permission or else it could lead you in trouble with the law. The best way to get permission is by sending an email to the person or the band or even the company and ask them for  permission. That's not the only way you could send a letter, phone them and more.

It doesn't just apply to music but anything under copyright law.

Making My Website Online

I started off by making my website using IM Creator I felt that it was really limited due to the fact that you couldn't have diffrent sub menus, diffrent types of gallery and more. I feel that IM Creator would be good for making simple websites.

So instead I started to use Wix a better online website creator it doesnt only offer more but it makes the websites look more proffesional and more detailed. So if you are thinking of creating a website thats to place to go its free and its great. Here are website designs:

Solgans

Here are some of the websites I used to find slogans for my T-shirts:

Book Review: Protest T-Shirts

The book Protest T-Shirts by the general editor Eleanor Mathieson, was published in 15/09/2008 by Graffito books it was printed in Portugal. The genre of the book is design and commercial art.

The book contains a lot of images of designs from the cult independents its mainly images with abit of text.

The book is mainly about diffrent protest T-shirts there purpose and more.

I have decided to write a book review on this book because it relates to my project because I´m looking at T-Shirts with slogans.

House Style

Before you create a website you must have a style to the website so that it stays constant all the way through.

Colours:
The colours I will use through out my website are red, light blue, black and white. I have chosen theses colours because they stand out

Font's:
I will use Segoe Script and Century Gothic.

Images:
This image will be part of my house style also it will appear in every page of my website because its the layout that way it will the people seeing the sight what website there looking at.

Outcome

For my final outcome I will produce 2 websites. One which will be made from Dreamweaver which will be a gallery and the second one will be made on an online.

Logo Design's

Logo 1

I used photoshop to create this by using tools like the type mask tool on different clothes textures and more.

Logo 2
For this I used the same program as the first one but instead of focusing on fashion I focused on teenagers who are my target audience.

For this design the only thing I did was I used the type tool and the paint brush tool.

Overall I prefer the second one to the first one because it suits the target audience more also it looks more effective and eye catching because of the colour and the font of text.

Decency

Decency means the state or quality of being decent; propriety. This is acording to http://www.thefreedictionary.com/decency.

Intellectual Property Rights

Intellectual Property Rigths are just the rights given the artist, photographer, director and more over there work. It gives them exclusive rigth to use there design for an exclusive amount of time.

It is divided to 2 diffrent sections. One of the sections is to do with industrial property and the other section is to do copyright and rights related to copyright for more information visit http://www.wto.org/english/tratop_e/trips_e/intel1_e.htm

Copyright

Copyright gives the creator the grant to have their work protected. some of the rights include the right to produce, the right to reproduce the work, perform, display and more. Copyright stops others from using your work but not the general idea.

Lots of artist have gone through situations to do with copyright for example take a look at Shepard Fairey he was fined and sentenced for using an unauthorized AP photo and for also forging documents to hide that it was an unauthorized AP photo for his poster "Hope".

Another situation involving copyright is Andy Warhol who was accused of copyright infringement by The Velvet Underground over  their iconic famous banana logo being for use on other products. For more information visit: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-19555588

Here's an example of a different situation involving copyright but it hasn't really gone to court. Elsinore is believed to have copied a Roy Lichtenstein Image for an album for a band. Which is copyright infringement. For more information visit: http://clancco.com/wp/2010/05/copyright-pop-art_fair-use_cease-desist/

When it comes to copyright just be careful with your work so you wont get into trouble with the law so if you do use somebody else's work make sure you state that it isn't your work and give the artist or the creator credit for there work or make sure you get permission to use it.

Social Media

In Social Media if you post something which has been copyrighted. It doesn´t mean that the site owns your work it stills belongs to the owner. The only thing is by agreeing to post your work  on the site it gives them a license to use your work without payment. It just depends on the content on the terms and conditions.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is the legislation and government guidance. It helps to protect against something undesirable it mainly helps children, young people, vulnerable adults whose circumstances and more.

It helps to protect them from maltreatment of being hurt, abused or being at risk in the internet. But also its to prevent impairment of children’s health or even development, it ensures that children grow up circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care and more.

Legal & Ethical Constraints in Social Media & Website design

When it comes to making a website theres a few things we have to look at such as copyrigth, intellectual property rigths, permissions, and more. They have to be checked before, during the process and after creating your website.

I will be adding more posts to understand the legal & ethical constraints in social media & website design. In my posts I will cover copyright, intellectual property rights, permissions, sensitivity to groups of society, explicit content and safeguarding and how you can prevent any illegal things on your or a website.
